About Us

Nought to Five Early Childhood Centre, previously known as Eden Park Child Care Centre, was established in 1977. The Centre was situated in the heart of the Eden Park Industrial Estate, which at the time was the largest industrial complex of its kind in Australia. It was the first time in this country that a developer (Copeland Developments Ltd) had incorporated a childcare centre into an industrial project. It was then leased to the Women's Trade Union Commission and our original lease was counter-signed by Edna Ryan - a leading figure in three eras of feminism in the 20th century and credited with achieving maternity leave and work based childcare. We opened our doors on Monday 19th September 1977 and had 14 children in our first week of operation.

In 1988 we became an incorporated association and from this time until the present day we have operated as a not-for-profit, community based long day care centre.

We relocated in August 1998 from the Eden Park Estate to our present location on Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park.

We welcome you to our centre and hope that you find your time with us a rewarding experience for both you and your child. Nought to Five is a community centre, where children, families, and staff come together. We work in partnerships to build trusting, supportive relationships to achieve the best early education experience for your child.

We are committed to providing high quality education and care, and constantly update, review and reflect upon our practices and policies to ensure they are current and meeting the needs of the families at our centre.

We are proud to be an integral part of the North Ryde community for so many years and we look forward to continuing to provide a high quality service for our children and families for many years to come.

Our well appointed premises offer a warm, safe, and secure environment and include security-coded entrance, air-conditioning, large open rooms and excellent resources.

Our large, natural outdoor setting includes grassed areas, sandpits, swing set, bike tracks and established trees and shrubs. Together this offers children an aesthetic environment which enhances and stimulates their play.

Our Centre motto is: "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow..."
